Through our locally-grown initiative, we source, process and ship only Southern-California locally grown produce. Locally grown products support Southern California communities and take less time to travel from farm to our customers tables, ensuring the locally grown fruits and vegetables you receive from our distributors are the freshest and tastiest available. What is a locally-fresh food?
Locally-fresh foods is a designation available on fruits and vegetables which meet our strict locally-grown standards.
The locally-fresh foods label certifies that the products you receive are only those which have been grown in the Southern-California region. In order to receive the locally-fresh designation, products must be grown in the United States, and more specifically within 200 miles of our Los Angeles distribution center.
Although our locally-fresh criteria is stricter than those used by much of the food industry, it ensures that our products are fresher and travel less food-miles. By buying local we actively support our local farms, local economies, and local communities.
Locally-Fresh Initiative
Through our locally-fresh initiative, Field Fresh Foods ships truckloads of locally grown agricultural products on a daily basis. We realize the important role that our local farmers play in today's society — both in terms of ensuring our high-quality food supply and supporting the local economy. Field Fresh Foods is committed to purchasing products from local growers for distribution to restaurant distributors, food manufacturers and retail stores in our service area. This commitment reflects our goal to provide our customers with quality, affordable, locally grown, fresh-cut agricultural products.
